The co-main event of Kings of Kombat 10, which takes place tonight in Melbourne, Australia, is a fight at 70kg between Australian Steve “Stone Cold” Moxon (33-6-1) and Belorussian Yuri “The Prince” Bessmertny (32-11-1).

Steve Moxon, at 1.69m (5 ft 6in), will be giving up the size and reach advantage to Yuri Bessmertny at 1.82m (5 ft 11in).  However it appears Moxon makes up somewhat for the disadvantage with a 68% KO ratio.

Moxon and Bessmertny have had a similiar number of professional fights.  Moxon has racked up 40 fights over the last four years while Bessmertny has had 44 fights since 2004.  However Bessmertny is the more experienced fighter having trained in Muay Thai since the age of 13 and then having competed numerous times at amateur level before turning professional.

It’s worth noting that 2013 has seen Moxon take a step up in level of competiton, while Bessmertny has been facing stiffer opposition since 2011.

So far in 2013, Moxon has gone 2-2, however he is coming into this fight on a 2 fight win streak with wins over Dzhabar Askerov and Gokhan Turkyilmaz.

Bessmertny has had a less successful run so far in 2013, going 1-4.  Bessmertny comes into this fight on a 3 fight losing skid, losing to Davit Kiria, Artur Kyshenko and Karam Ghajji.

As far as styles go, Steve Moxon likes to push forward and throw power shots.  He can struggle when kept outside the pocket.  Yuri Bessmertny has a rather relaxed style, but he tends to let his opponents push him around the ring and back him up against the ropes.

Prediction:  Despite the size and experience disadvantages, Steve Moxon will bully Bessmertny around the ring.  Moxon by decision.
