The K-1 MAX 2013 Final 16 was a nice card all in all.

Suarez and Olar put on a good fight.  This is the kind of fight that would have been great with a couple of extra rounds.

Buakaw smashed the hapless Calvo, ending the fight in the first round with liver shots.  Yeah, sure, that’s the way Buakaw should dispatch a lower ranked fighter, but it was still impressive.

Campbell ending Lopes with a liver kick was impressive too.

Kehl did a great job pulling off the upset against Van Opstal.

Andy Souwer looked a little lack lustre against Kido, but to be far, Kido turned up to be counted on the night.  Kido really took it to Souwer, particularly in the third round where he had Souwer pinned up against the ropes.  In the end, Souwer had done enough overall to take the win, but Kido certainly gave Souwer a bit of a fright.
